Village Residence

This loft unified and defined the public aspects of the home. The floor plate was designed around a floating central core of pale blue lacquer. Contained within the core are numerous functions, including storage, electrical panels, structure and a series of operable panels.

Containing living, dining, kitchen and a flexible study and guest bedroom, the area can be opened up entirely for daily use or entertaining and can be closed off to provide greater intimacy and privacy. for the study, bedroom and bath areas.

The palette is intentionally pale, allowing the intense color of the internal core to read clearly, and to provide visual clues to the intended movement and optional closed spaces that are contained within.

Phase II, including most of the private spaces of the house are to be complete in 2013
