Washington Township Remodel
This project started with an update to the den/office with a full wall of bookcases and a new kitchen island. The homeowners were also updating all the floors throughout the main level. As we all know so well one project snowballs into another. They hired interior designer, Shana Smith, and a great contractor to help them with their growing project. At first they planned to paint their existing kitchen cabinets and update the floors, counters, and new island cabinets. After going to one of the local show houses the husband fell in love with the new built-in Sub Zero refrigerators. The existing layout would not allow for the new appliances so they chose to order all new kitchen cabinets. This allowed them to get the look and function they both wanted. The new full wall of built-in glass cabinets replaced the unused desk area and pantry cabinets. They felt the existing pantry space was sufficient for what they needed. The pantry now functions more like a prep area for packing school lunches and meal planning.
The existing powder room had a shower that they did not use. We removed the shower and relocated the toilet in it's place. This gave us enough room to install a furniture vanity and sliding barn door to separate the spaces. The new tile wall along with vessel sink are pleasing to all their guests.
Both of their daughters bathrooms needed updating as well. Storage was a concern especially for preteen girls. The both have vanity/make-up areas that include pullout cabinets for curling irons and hair dryer storage.
