Thank you for the "resale" part. We are aging in place and plan to ditch our bathtub for a stand up shower with a seat (in a couple of years when we finish saving up for the project.) My best friend asked how we would sell the house with one bathroom without a tub. I'm really not concerned about that. Once we're gone, our heirs can change it or not. I want to enjoy it while we're here.

Hi Janet, I was featured in this article as a designer but I am also a Realtor. I work with many builders that build for "empty nesters", we have completely done away with master tubs. A really nice master shower has far more appeal to most buyers than a tub that sits and gathers dust. I do believe that as long as there is at least 1 tub in the house, you are on the right track.
