Most are own-root bands which I've planted straight in the ground. Perhaps try potting up and getting a 2 gallon-sized rootball before you put it in the ground? I've never had a good result from a band put directly in the ground. In contrast, a 2 gallon-sized rootball usually takes off quickly.

What a shame, but I'll be content to just admire photos then :) Not that I was looking to buy another rose anyway. At least not right now. If Therese Bugnet doesn't get better in the next season or two though, she's getting the shovel and then I can have some fun shopping for a replacement. She smells so good but I've never gotten even 10 blooms arlt at once, and no repeat, no hips. So annoying when roses in great spots don't do well.

It's $25 now. Angel Gardens was $20, HCR is $10.95, and since it's a 5" pot and not a nice big bare root, the plant itself is also less expensive. I wanted to order from Peter, but I'm poor, lol, so HCR it is. Hopefully they'll have it in spring.

I learned long ago that while Beales is very knowledgeable, and a nice person, to boot, his assessments are not valid for California gardens. Come to think of it, maybe not Florida gardens, either! Smarter by far to buy the Australian Tea Rose book. Jeri
