When I had the job of going through my parent's photo collection, I was hasty and got rid of some pictures that I should have either given to the people featured in the photo so they could decide, or broken the task down into smaller chunks. Setting a time-limit for looking at photos is wise as it can be more emotional than you expect.

I inherited 100s of Dad’s slides. We never had slide shows growing up, so I’m scanning, restoring and sharing these precious images to our family’s Facebook group (and an external hard drive). And wow, what wonderful memories. You’re right - only do a few at a time, to allow those memories to process. And it also allows me to be more selective. It’s harder work than I thought!
