overall I think this might be the color you were thinking about. possibly going with a dark color for the ceiling recessed bit to let it recede into nothingness.
because the ceiling is dark, you don't even notice it.
just a way of bringing in some pattern, scale and distinction into the dining room.
grass cloth is also a nice way to add texture, it is a wallpaper.
because your room is so wide as well, have you ever thought of a round table?
the idea of a metallic ceiling for fun!
this is the idea of possibly bringing in some texture (velvet) and color into the dining room.
if wanting to bring color in... kind of a fun wallpaper for an accent wall.
or one dark wall surrounded by white.
is this the type of light floor you were thinking? too light?
maybe a Navy velvet recovered sofa in the living room to go with the Eames chair.
I know it is a completely different style, but still wondering if going darker for some areas, but break things up a bit.
the idea of a geometric rug that brings in pattern and color to the living room, if the walls are white.
