I grew morning glories many years ago in my garden, then moved and took a couple of landscape plants with me. Twelve years later in my new garden I found morning glory seedlings after turning some soil. The seeds obviously hitchhiked wIth the transplanted ferns. I promptly pulled the volunteers out, and never again will I plant morning glories.

Potato vine is massively invasive in south Florida, so tread with caution.

For morning glory, what do you consider "northern"? Because I am in PA (same latitude as NYC) and from one seed planted 8 years ago, I have hundreds of reseeded plants every year. Very invasive but beautiful.
