What I had! I was actually kind of new here to the neighborhood. Which There were only single men about my age or younger! What I did is put a Christmas card in their own mail box just before Christmas! But I probably shouldn’t even done that! I don’t know? I just didn’t want to walk up to their doorsteps either? Also I give great food that I just can’t eat away to them. Food that I will just throw out! Because I cook to much food for myself alone! But now these men take just friendly jesters to much higher levels. They to me as well be good friends! But they had not been at all. So right now I just keep to myself.

When our new neighbors moved in, I took the traditional gifts of salt, bread, and wine, along with a little card explaining the meaning of each. I feel STRONGLY that those already in residence should welcome the newcomers!

I'm one of the shy ones and hesitate approaching newcomers getting them at the wrong time or maybe they don't want to mingle. I do however appreciate when new in a neighborhood someone calling or asking for a small I favor or just to say 'hi I'm so and so' As time goes by I regret not having approached a new neighbor but the longer we wait the more awkward it becomes.
