I love my three raised garden beds... I like to grow heirloom seeds and transplant into the garden. These pictures are from last Summer(it is currently winter in Australia!) and include beetroot, zucchini, aubergine, tomatos, basil, carrots, silverbeet, radish and garlic. I also have herbs and rhubarb in pots and plant flowers (some edible) to attract bees.

I wish I could transport #3, 5, 8 or 10 to my yard right now.

Would love to see maggierateye's beds - I love the idea of repurposing screens! (And while I understand the comments re: railroad ties, my dad used them throughout our childhood... I'm 54 and no sign of detrimental effects).

I'd also love to see shots of homes that have raised beds in the front yard --but see what they look like in fall & winter, when the veg aren't thriving. I'm interested in doing this in our (crabgrass-laden) front yard, but worried about what it will look like for 5-6 months of the year... Anyone have photos s/he can share?
