We purchased a nearly 100-year-old home in the Pacific Northwest two years ago. When coming out to the house, our flooring salesperson recommended covering up the hardwood floors in the living room with laminate as a "quick fix". I am happy to report we told her "No". While I still dream of one day having the floor re-finished, we're enjoying it, flaws and all, with the help of some strategically placed area rugs.

We specialize in using hard wax oils to finish our custom made floors, and are available to discuss care and maintenance options should someone be in need of guidance. The biggest benefit of hard wax is the ability to renew by reapplying a fresh coat, without having to sand the floor first. Most other finishes require sanding, which can result in additional work (duct sealing, plastic sheeting, cleaning of micro particles, etc.). If you're considering several options, we do recommend going with hard wax oil.
