Many of these tubs are beautiful to look at, but terrible choices from the standpoint of convenience, comfort, and safety. Try getting in and out of one of these deep, thin-walled tubs in the showroom before you commit thousands of $$$ to one. They are almost impossible for anyone not tall, long-legged, agile, and young to safely enter and exit, and have no wide edge where you can sit and swing your legs over. And who needs a tub you have to clean under or in the narrow space behind? I best like the tubs set into casements with wide ledges you can sit on and set things on, that are low enough for an older person or child to deal with.

I redid one bathroom & removed the tub. It came in handy when I broke my ankle. Now, I want to gut the master bathroom. To tub or not to tub!!! I don't want the tub. It was a Jacuzzi but the jets no longer work. The shower is small; so, if I remove the tub, I can have a larger shower. I am almost 70 & it's difficult to get in & out of the tub. Whoever buys the house after me can add a tub if they so desire.
