With 3 dogs/5 cats/spouse & Mom on oxygen, we'll just have to hang on for dear life! Possibly go into basement if a tornado/hurricane, but could never get everyone into the attic if it is a flood. This was a great article and GIRAGS brings in a great point. OY.

A couple of things I did not see in the disaster kits were candles/matches and/or flashlights, preferably rechargeable or crank up ones.

Before disaster strikes, make a list of the things you will want to take with you. With just minutes to grab stuff it’s easier to go by the list than run frantically around your house. Also, take photos or video of your home and property beforehand and store them on the cloud for insurance purposes. OK, gotta go do all that myself in case the hurricane gets too close to NJ.
