It would really be nice, if writers of these landscape & planting articles would kindly do a little research as to origin of the plants they are showing. Very few mentioned are even native to the US, let alone are evasive.

Even better would be to do articles about or include native plants to various regions. The writers would be doing the bees, birds, insects, butterflies and such a big favor. And the writers would also be educating the readers at the same time. Otherwise, imagine your little world without insects, butterflies, bees and birds. Of course, the rat population among others would increase, too.

Being in the plant container business, I can only agree with Lauren to grow trees. We make all of our planters suitable to grow trees as she recommends Japanese Maples, but others to consider as well: Dwarf fruit trees provide, flowers, fruit, shade and beautiful fall foliage. I like that she also suggest grapes. Grapes and other vines enhance a garden. All of our boxes can be provide with heavy lattice to provide a pathway for growing all vines or espalier growth channels. Pictured below are samples of our beautiful creations that can be placed in any garden.
