Beautiful, however, I like the character of the original. It matched the outside and what I would think of a French farmhouse to be. I can’t imagine replacing solid oak with MDF. A lot of MDF was used and I am sure that was because it is inexpensive and looks nice painted. I understand having to remove the tile for insulation. A shame but necessary for comfort and cost of utilities. The colors are beautiful and it is very soothing. Is there not a shower in the upstairs bath that the sister uses? Also, I feel sorry for the little boy sharing the room with twin infants! LOL. If I was there, I would like a small kitchen area in each house due to snacks and coffee, etc. when you don’t want to go to the main house. Not real convenient early in the morning or later at night when you are settled in or dealing with babies/children. I love that the family can go there to reconnect and enjoy big family dinners, cousins playing. That is just priceless. A real treasure. Kudos to Grandma for pursuing it and the family coming together to agree on renovations.

Beautiful, simple and modern without losing the rustic character of the home. Really nice job designing. Love it!
