My family is originally from NC and I still have family in there Hickory area some of whom used to work in the industry. I generally think of the NC furniture as high quality but a bit traditional but when we were shopping for our new home in Darien I asked my family over Christmas if there were any brands they'd recommend. They put me on to Maiden Home - saying it was started by a new york city woman but they produced in north carolina and was growing very fast and known by industry to be incredibly quality obsessed with a more contemporary style. When we got back home post the New Year I was at a friends house who had a large sullivan sectional from them that they raved about and that was my trigger to really check them out. Over the past 5 months, we've purchased a jones sectional in leather, 2 perry chairs and 3 Wyeth beds for our guest rooms. We also have two mott stools in mohair at the foot our bed which sadly just function as a place for my husband to leave clothes but are oh so beautiful. I'm eyeing their Reade dining table currently as they've said they will be launching a larger size soon (unclear exactly when unfortunately) which is needed for our space. Through 3 separate orders/deliveries, we've had zero issues and the furniture has all been exceptional. We havent spoken to anyone on the phone there but they have been very responsive via email to our simple questions --- one of my biggest pet peeves nowadays is when you get an email from a company but you can't just reply to it and you need to fill out some form to email customer service - with Maiden Home, you can just respond to any e-mail and a real person gets back to you.
Happy to answer questions about the pieces but in short I'm impressed with the company and its products and just love supporting a quality woman founded business in an industry i always grew up seeing as dominated by men!
