My builder started keeping a list of all the changes I made to my plan for accessibility and all the fixture selections I made. He now pulls out the list whenever he gets a new prospective customer that needs a multi-generational or age-in-place plan. And I had to fight for some of the changes I wanted. Now they're glad they listened and learned.

Any good builder should already have options available for any person with a disability (mental and/or physical) regardless of age. My builder has had those options ever since he began building houses more than 40 years ago. He just keeps adding to them. His latest deals with technology that can be used by someone disabled or not.

I know in our area, even the general subdivision builder who is worth anything also have options for the disabled regardless of age. It has become more common than not.
