Vine Ave
This has a less structured/formal feel.
less formal again - Love this
Idea for down the side of the house
Rustic looking planters - love the old sleepers but having had the white stones on a driveway they are hard to keep clean
Maybe some vertical gardening
Overhead structures create a lot of interest and great for growing on too!
You could make the seating the focal point of the vege gardens
abundance in the vege garden - still has seating area
The vege gardens are going to be on display at the entrance of the property, so you will need to have a bit of a statement, even through the winter months.
Hanging gardens are currently very popular
Do you like strong contrasts with the foliage? - yes- love the red and green with white flowers
Green on green or do you prefer more colour - I think we already have more contrast with the foliage in the plants we will keep-
Something simplistic like this for the council land? Maybe use Mondo and Zephyranthes rather than all gravel
Another simplistic minimal planting style.
Have you thought of grassing the roof of your studio? Can you get a lawn mower to it? Could have some fun with the idea- love the concept but think we might run into trouble with the moisture seeping in- there is already a potential problem and at some stage we need to do a waterproof screed over the roof- open to suggestions
We could create a simple garden to highlight artwork, or create something similar for the roof of the studio
White on white for the vege garden- too white and austere
A more modern take - no- too modern
Framing the lawn with paving adds interest- Nige would like as much lawn as possible
A more feminine touch to the gardens- bit to cottage garden for where we are
Is this too structured for you? - yes
Do off-set angles appeal? No- not at all- but like the 2 curves in the front garden where you step down.
Perhaps build in seating on the lawn where the levels change
like the idea of patterns outdoor tiles on top of studio roof
