I have lived with and remodeled many tiny primary bathrooms.
- Limit the number of colors in the space otherwise it looks super choppy. Baseboards the same color as walls. Ceiling and walls the same color.
- I like a bathroom floor to be different from the hallway. You want the bathroom to feel like a different private space. A floor change helps.
- Your marble floor tile is the best choice of all your samples. Use it. Next find a vanity. It is really hard to find a good vanity in 24 - 28". Start looking. Remember your floor heater when it comes to door swing. Even better, get a floating vanity with good drawers. They make a small bathroom feel bigger. I swear by the drawer storage in mine. Way better than doors.
- Let your floor tile and vanity dictate other choices --> white walls with the marble floor look. The two faux marbles will compete. Not good. See what vanity you can find and color match your wall paint to it. It will help the space look bigger.
- You are on a budget. No to tile on the walls. Plus, it will make your non-tile shower enclosure look cheap.
- The gross talk about black toilets - my mom had one. You cannot see the color of what is coming out of your body. This is not great for health reasons. Doctor wants to know the color of your pee - sorry, I have a black toilet don't know. Seriously, not good.
- If you want to splurge, figure out where to do it - recessed ceiling lights or a slightly more expensive toilet with Toto sani-clean (or whatever they are calling it now). Ever since I got a Toto toilet, it looks clean all of the time. Yes, a white toilet. Go for it. Sounds like you hate cleaning. This will help.
- In certain situations I like a black faucet, and even in some small baths. You can wait to figure this out. Get everything else together and then figure out what the room calls for.
- Get a large recessed mirrored medicine cabinet. It helps a lot with storage.
- Add recessed storage shelves on the wall behind your door. They will hold a lot. Hang your towels on hooks on the back of the door. This was the only option in our bath and I was shocked to find my towels dried faster and were fresher on hooks.
