I've been contemplating the same thing for some time now so Thank you Thank you for this great article!!! It's the boost I needed to move forward on the idea if the sink under the window. Just thought I was weird for wanting to look outside at our vista when washing my hands or brushing teeth. Divine intervention!! ;^)

My addition in progress includes a 9x18 bath plus laundry closet. The long west wall was the only place to put any windows. From left to right, in the plan,, there's the laundry closet, sink, toilet, and shower. The window is over the sink, because otherwise, it would have had to be over the toilet. There's also a long horizontal window in the shower area, and a glass door opposite the shower that leads to a patio. I'd rather see the view when brushing my teeth!

I suspended a mirror in front of a window in my bathroom. The glass was clear as I had complete privacy. The quality of light was perfect on my face for applying make-up and I still had a view outside. I rarely had to turn on the adjacent lights. It was a beautiful solution to deciding whether to have a window or a mirror. I got both!
