SUNKEN LIVING ROOM: (Stair Transition) In order to avoid having the look of a sunken room, especially an octagon shaped one, I would like to implement something like this between the dining room to the living room. In the opening of this bookshelf doorway would be the steps. I would like to do this on both sides of the sunken room where the steps are. The stairs leading down to the basement (the troublesome ones) would be in between these two bookcase walls.
EXTERIOR SLURRIED BRICK: Possible option for Exterior
EXTERIOR WINDOWS: Possibly just leave windows white/off white and slurry brick.
Exterior Windows: Slurried Brick and similar color windows
EXTERIOR: Brick lightened up whether through paint, lime wash or german smear. Would like gray windows.
CARPENTRY: This is the carpentry I would like to have done in the Hallway downstairs (across from patio french doors, kids bedrooms/bathrooms). Thinking about doing this in the main floor entry along left side (study/guest bedroom side) and around corner down the hallway.
WALLS: This is a great article that explains exactly what our goal is....giving a home a timeless feel. The walls have "depth and charm". I would like to do something very similar to this on our walls if at all possible.
PATIO DOORS - Back of house upstairs and downstairs.
ENTRY DOOR: Possible Front Entry Doors. I also like something similar to this for pocket doors into office/guest room. Love the Roman Shades for privacy.
WHOLE HOUSE: White walls and Painted trim/millwork
BASEMENT HALLWAY: This is what I want the hallway in the basement to look like. I would even like to add a window to Bedroom #2 to give the rooms and hallway an exterior house type look and try to make the hallway look like a outdoor/indoor mudroom. French doors and window would be on the right side of this picture. Where the french doors are in this pic would be the nook for the mudroom cabinet to hang coats/jackets and put shoes. Where the wall is on the left side of this picture, would be the hall that leads into the bedrooms and bathroom.
Would like to have painted paneling like this in guest bathroom. Paneling about half up the wall with wallpaper on the upper half.
