This is a cheap ready-made closet system like the one we currently have. Adding a floor and kickplates at the bottom and crown molding at the top would make it look custom. Even the unused holes could easily be covered with narrow molding.

If we choose to keep the closet "open," little things can make it look nicer, such as matching hangers and putting only the most uniform clothing items in the open areas & putting the non-uniform items in drawers and behind doors. Note the shallow drawers under hanging items here.

Bill loves the idea of having doors that cover everything in the closet. This is way more contemporary than our style would be, but it still shows how clean and orderly a closet can look, no matter what's behind the doors.
