Any ideas for permeable walkways/driveways in snow country...gravel is difficult to shovel (I prefer to use a pusher shovel to avoid lifting as much as possible).

I'm installing plastic "EZ roll grass pavers, 4' x 24' " on grass and gravel. I didn't get the gravel path completely smooth, but I could shovel most of it without too many stops. http://www.ndspro.com/images/stories/pdfs/permeable-pavers/ez-roll-grass-paver-technical-specifications-guide.pdf

A second grass paver is for my house to garage walkway, I'm placing on top of sod. No information on usage in snow areas. I had it on a layer of hay last winter (so it didn't disappear into the mud), I'm smoothing and preping the ground for sod right now.

All these ideas are great, but where I live any open crack or gravel is immediately filled with weeds! What are some attractive options for these areas?
