Laundry Room
For wall on east. I have a pull out iron board we can add. It fits in cabinet with 5 - 6 inch pull down drawer front that is 30 inch wide. I also like idea of including a drawer above or below the iron board. If we did this would we still have room for 2 open shelves below for baskets or cabinets with doors? This may require a higher counter top which would be ok. Unit 14 to 16 inches deep with counter extending over about 1 inch. Need to consider space for walking through and depth of west wall unit.
For wall on west. Tall cabinet but instead of brooms want hooks for coats with hanging area to the right of this cabinet. How deep can we fit? Currently it is 10 inch deep. Could we go up to 14 inches deep? What is required depth for hanging area? Would want the cabinet the same depth as the framed sides of hanging area.
Example of built in w/d with 10- 14 inch deep upper cabinets above and 20 to 24 inches of exposed counter in front of cabinets for folding. Depth to accommodate my w/d needs to be 32 to 34 inches. Can counter and cabinets be installed to leave space behind to run water hoses up behind counter and into back of cabinet for water shut off and drain? Cut out cabinet back to access water and drain? W/d are 27 inch wide. That would leave width of 3 inches once we rotate the 2 x 4s in west wall. Can we put in vertical trim boards in middle and on sides? Use 3/4 inch wide boards going back a short way so have open space behind allowing for ventilation and vibration between w/d?
