Just to clarify, USB-C is a connector type. USB-1, 2, 3, 3.1, and USB-4 are signal and, sometimes, charging specifications. USB-PD, QC, Warp and various others are purely charging specs.
All USB connectors other than USB-C are effectively obsolete.
At a minimum you want a charger that is USB-C and supports USB-3.1-PD. Ideally it should support USB-4-PD and QC.
If USB-A connectors are going to be obsolete, why do all new cars have them?
Legacy auto manufacturers aren't known for their ability to keep up with technology. Just look at how they've let Tesla eat their lunch year after year after year. They're all scrambling to catch up.
