This has more closed and is better for storage than display. If you think you have more storage needs and less display needs might be nice to close some of the uppers.
This is very clean and elegant. I like the cabinet doors below.

This is elegant with sconces and the library lighting on the sides pluses covers the TV. This is my favorite so far!

Idea of color behind
I like the lights and I like the idea of two-toned. Also, we could do a wallpaper or paint color behind shelves to add some depth. OR we could paint the cabinets a color- no need to just be white!
More modern but came idea with some closed and open and not so symmetrical - you may want to be more uniform as is more traditional but family room is a place for some fun
I like the clean look and the no so symmetrical shelving here and the cabinet detail on the closed below which add some interest.
