Good Day pchoksi, Thank you for your question and interest in the lighting detail for our LG House project. We specified a very simple halogen track lighting system from Excel Lighting. The light fixtures and track are black and mounted to a recessed MDF 'box' - in this case painted black - so that it matches the track fixture color. The wood panel is custom built. refer to photo. this shower is an old tub/shower. So for 60” x 32” shower, the doorway is generally 24- 26”. The need for a door is more personal preference, location of shower heads/ are there body sprays, etc? At top of shower is LED strip light.

You will not find a different cover to fit and are stuck with the existing cloud type. The wiring of the fixture has nothing to do with it, it is the housing within the ceiling. You would need an electrician to install and connect either: - a new recessed lumenaire, after removing the existing housing, which requires some drywall patchwork; - a new ceiling box for a surface mount fixture, after removing the existing housing, which requires some drywall patchwork; - an LED surface mount fixture large enough to cover the existing housing (or jerry-rig a coverplate), connected via an Edison adapter ===> could be DIY then.

Blecch! Those are awful: too large in diameter, too thick, and with bulbous "bulbs". I used JUNO 17HZ-WH white trim with a "haze" reflector, installed in a compatible housing. These are available in several finishes as shown in the Technical Spec section of the web page. The replaceable bulb is recessed in the housing. Even these 4" Commercial Electric 91462 would be a better choice. The 2" 91502 could be used in a hallway or over a shower. -- amateur
