The last Danish Stool was produced in 1982 with a teak frame and vinyl upholstery; the latest iteration is made from sustainably-grown and more grainy ash and comes with a choice of quality upholstery (from Italian leather).Really the only difference in the manufacturing process is that we use harder waring Lacquer on the polish with a 2 pac material

Elsewhere in the factory John Migils Master, a craftsman with more than 22 years experience as an upholster, rolls out the leather to hand-stitch the seat of TH Brown’s mid-century Martelle Bar Stool.

He marks out the leather, reviewing it to ensure each piece that is cut is of the best quality.

Then he goes in with the sewing scissors.

Once this is completed, he stitches and finishes the Martelle’s leather seats.
