Shou-sugi-ban / Charred Wood Siding / Burnt Wood Siding
A Japanese style burnt wood siding (shou-sugi-ban). This technique adds beauty and longevity to wood siding. Traditionally, cedar was burnt in Japan to increase the wood’s resistance to insects and fire. Delta Lumber & Millworks has modernized this technique and experimented with other species of wood, creating beautiful and one-of-a-kind appearances that have not been found in traditional wood products. Using species such as cypress and yellow pine, we use our burning technique to produce amazing siding, paneling, and flooring products.
