This is one of those instances when a conversation would have helped I just have been working on a renovation for a client where we have walnut floors and stairs we had 2 choices to match perfectly or go with premade treads the cost was quite different and we decided to go matching but in your case it will be your $$ to change and I thing the idea of white risers is a good compromise BTW the stairs running perpendicular to the floor also has an effect on how they look

Agree on matching the treads, or do paint grade wood treads painted to match the trim color and install a custom runner in the middle.
