Guest Picks: Finding the Right Couch in the Blue End of the Spectrum
My husband and I are looking for a new couch. Ideally, we'd like something midcentury modern in the blue end of the spectrum to complement the orange items already in our living room. While not necessarily pictured in teal, all of these bad boys are available in upholstery ranging from teal-ish light blue to manly navy to retro-iffic teal. — Heidi from Hands Occupied

Georgia Love Seat, Slate - $1,099
Very retro in spirit, this 60-inch love seat will slide right into apartments of any size.
Lubi Turquoise Sleeper Daybed - $899
I've always liked a good daybed! When space is at a premium, it hardly makes sense to keep a single-function piece of furniture like a bed around.
Truemodern Luna Loveseat Sofa - $1,780
This couch is nice and space conscious at 70 inches long. I love the angled legs and the somewhat-aggressive armrests.
Hamlin Armless Sofa - $1,759
The seams on the pillows add some simple texture to this relatively bare couch. The metallic legs take its look from midcentury to more modern.
Dane Love Seat Sofa, Sea Blue - $1,745
If you looked up "light blue sofa" in the dictionary, you might find a picture of this love seat sofa. I love the particular shade of brown of its legs paired with the light blue. It's a great combo.
Tailor Sofa - $1,189.97
The scroll arms of this couch are fun and a bit less vintage-y than the rest of the couches assembled here. The single cushion adds an illusion of length, which could be good in a small space.
Diggity 70-Inch Love Seat Sofa - $1,900
I like that the legs on this love seat sofa are a bit different than some of the other designs I've found. The horizontal planks connecting the front legs and back legs add something different.
Margot Sofa, Turquoise Fargo - $1,099
Sometimes you can't beat a good color combined with a simple design. This sofa could be a real showstopper if paired with the right accent pillows.
Avec Peacock Apartment Sofa - $1,199
I love the seams on the back of this one! And the color is bold without being overwhelming.
Elton Settee, Heathered Wool, Cinder - $999
All of the tufting! The fancy back of this settee really makes it feel regal.
Reverie Sofa, Key Largo Teal - CAD 1,599
Here's the story — of a vintage modern cou-ouch. This one ties for most retro-inspired among these finds. And for my taste, that's not a bad thing!
Couchoid Studio Sofa, Ocean - $1,699
My husband particularly likes this uber-minimal couch, probably because it's almost armless without actually being armless or looking bare.
Paidge Sofa - $999
This couch looks comfortable and durable. I'm glad they styled this photo with a pillow, throw and wall-mounted lamp — because this couch looks like it would be great for binge reading.
Pennie Sofa, Cornflower Lindy - $899
The shape of this visually lightweight sofa sets it apart. It's soft and feminine, and minimal without being too stark.
Aviest Love Seat, Blue
The bold color and simple shape of this love seat are less midcentury modern than minimal, but I like it. It's also small space–friendly, doubling as a guest bed without looking like the daybed it secretly is.
Kendrick Love Seat, Penelope Teal - $2,899
The slightly heathered upholstery of this love seat nods to the midcentury look that likely inspired its design. However, without looking frumpy, those cushions look like they would be very comfortable for day-to-day use.
Either/Or Convertible Sofa, Turquoise - $699
The unique tufting on the sides of this convertible sofa set it apart from other designs you'll find.
I like that this couch almost appears to be leather at first glance, even though it's upholstered in fabric. It's a great color and would be a wonderful, simple focal point for a room.
Söderhamn 3er-Sofa, Isefall Light Turquoise - EUR 519
This is a very subtle take on the teal/turquoise couch. Available in sectional options, this flexible Ikea find is budget friendly and adaptable to unique spaces.
