Condo
In Progress: I still have a stack of boxes to unpack. Mostly books - I need at least one more bookshelf. However, the living room is painted except for a small area around the television. I need a second pair of hands to dismount the TV so I can paint behind it and then re-connect and hang it up again.
Before: Dining room. Double doors to right lead to kitchen and take up one wall of kitchen. Shiny brass chandelier not sure if it is centered where I'd want a dining table and no where to put in china cabinet or buffet easily due to window placement and HVAC return on left. Louvered double doors to right lead to kitchen. Considering removing doors.
Before: Kitchen, new appliances and kraftmaid cabinets. Odd space under window to left appears to have been window seat someone fitted a shelf of plywood over for storage? Photographer is standing in double doors from dining area. These doors take up most of the wall on this side, the electrical panel is to the left of the photographer in the kitchen. The left wall is a large window. The door seen in this photo leads to the hallway and the bedroom is visible.
In progress: The first coat of paint in the kitchen. It is going to need a second coat because the coverage is not great. You can see I removed the plywood shelf that had been installed in the window seat. I want to remove the window seat and install more base cabinets with a countertop because I don't have enough prep space.
Purchased: I bought one of these and had it installed at the new place. It's on the wall in the dining room. Looks great!
Purchased: I got two of these and had one socket in the bedroom and one by the front door replaced with these so I can have the USB charging station there.
Purchased: I got this for my living room. It is currently still in the box waiting to be installed. Not sure where it's going to end up yet...discovered it won't work where I'd originally planned to use it so rethinking options now.
Already owned: This is my toaster. It's long for slices of artisan bread from round loaves. Going to pick up the red as an accent color in the Kitchen.
Already owned: Royal Crown Derby Grenville. I started collecting this pattern in 1997. I have enough to dine 8 people. I need to have storage for this.
Already owned: Waterford Lismore. I inherited a large collection of this from Nana. I need storage for it.
Already owned: 17380 by Thun full set inherited from Grandma Royer.
Already owned: This is the yellow console table I've put by the front door in that transitional zone to the living room. The flower arrangement does not come with it. Photo is of the entry at the house where I lived in 2006.
Already owned: I have two of these small golden oak bookshelves. They're a handy height and have served as bedside tables or under window storage in other places I've lived. The shelves are the right size for large coffee table books. Currently being used in the dining room in place of a sideboard.
Purchased: I think this might be useful in the condo where I'm moving since there's limited cabinet space. I actually ordered one because I think it'll be the best way to store some of my larger pots like the copper stock pot I have.
Already owned: I have this pot and there's no good place to store it in my kitchen! I have to keep it polished on the top of my stove. It fits in that cookware stand I ordered so now it has a home! YAY!
Purchased: Just bought these lights for the hallway/foyer of the condo. Trying to get appt. for install.
Over washer/dryer?
Purchased, waiting for installation: https://www.bestledz.com/dainolite-gla-2812c-pc.html
Purchased: Just purchased the ZA-II safe. After the burglary at my last house I wanted a safe for valuables. The new condo has a tight entryway that makes bringing in a full size safe difficult so this one that comes in components and gets assembled is a good compromise. Waiting period approximately a year due to high demand.
Already owned: I have a CD shelf like this, it fits paperbacks, dvds, or CD cases. The finish is supposed to be dark cherry. You can see mine in the "in progress" pictures where the TV got installed.
Already owned: One of the two bookshelves I already own. It is not finished. All but one shelf are adjustable. The height and depth of even the smallest adjustment are right for large books or full sized hard-cover novels. Needs to be painted.
Already owned: The other of the two bookshelves I own is the one shown in the back of this picture. It has one permanent shelf the others are adjustable. It is not finished and needs to be painted.
In progress: This is the color I've painted the living room and dining room area. I may use this for the bathroom just because I have extra paint.
In progress: This is the color I am painting the kitchen.
In progress: This is the color of the accent wall in the dining area.
This is the Sherwin Williams "HGTV Urban Organic" color palette I'm using in the condo.
This was the inspiration photo at the paint store which convinced me to use the HGTV Home "Urban Organic" pallet of colors from Sherwin Williams.
The custom full sized bedstead I designed with Hardwood Artisans in Rockville, MD. The design turned out so well they used this photo on their web page! It is now in my bedroom. I love it.
I have a mirror very similar to this one I want to use in my bedroom over the dresser.
This is the new sideboard/buffet I ordered from Overstock.com The only problem I'm having with it is adjusting the hinges so the doors meet properly. However I'm very happy with how much it will hold and how it looks in the space I had for it.
Before: Front of the building, entry has stairs down, then step up to door. Condo is on second floor which is up half a flight of stairs. This makes bringing in large items a mild challenge.
