Whether your bedroom is blessed with decent closet space or sorely lacking it, you can always benefit from extra shelves, drawers or cabinetry. You may think this is possible only through freestanding wardrobes, dressers or bedside tables. However, have you ever considered the potential of your headboard? This aesthetic feature can boost your space with style while lending advantageous function. Storage is one of the most elusive and sought-after factors of a home; with the right design or a little creativity, your headboard can be a savvy solution.

Look for a design that is created to supply the storage you crave. This piece features a straight back and a curved front, providing space for both a shelf and two cabinets, which can hold anything from bedside books to extra pillows.
