Make Your Space
Most people would agree that space is generally at a premium in their homes. However, making efficient use of available areas like the attic can provide an unexpected oasis. There are endless construction options to consider when deciding whether to transform an attic into living space like sub flooring, sheetrock thickness, insulation, electrical/lighting and paint just to name a few. And, the addition of a bathroom, heating or central air conditioning will require the use of a licensed plumbing professional or possibly a carpenter that can raise the roof in order to facilitate additional headroom. Based on the photos featured below, it is clear that design options are totally endless. Make your home your castle by adding a skylight, vaulted ceiling, a balcony or a window seat along the sill that overlooks your kingdom.
I like the way each of the structural elements are turned into functional design features. I especially love the window seat at the foot of the bed. I can see this design in my own upstairs space.
