Help! Every single room in our 1989 "French Cottage" style house has beadboard on the four walls, at varying heights, from 3.5' to 7' in the kitchen. In most cases, wall and beadboard are painted the same color. Short of removing it, how do we start to give a little personality to the individual rooms?

Is there a trend in wider plank wainscoting? Would you recommend it in a smaller bathroom situation?
