My mother grew up in an Eichler home in Orange County. I love the story of my grandmother's reaction to the home. I'm told she cried when they moved in during the late 1950's because it was such a cold, modern home, and she cried when they moved away 10 years later because she had grown to love the abundant light in the glass atrium and opened spaces so dearly.

Joseph Eichler was my father's first cousin. If I could afford an Eichler home I would be there in a minute..............great site...thanks. Ed Eichler

Eichler homes have been and always will be my favorite of mid century modern design. Nothing compares. I do however like the MCM style so much, particularly the tongue and groove beam ceilings, I would be happy living in any home of that type. I also love the courtyards and the open concept feel. It is #1 on my bucket list. I am actually giving very serious thought to moving to Denver to realize this dream. I have lived in Orange County my entire life, I could only leave the ocean for a Mid Century Modern home. I love our Eichlers here, but I have been left in the dust price wise. I thought of a roommate/ partner to buy with, but I don't know anyone else that shares my passion for MCM..
