A MUST for Every Bedroom
Other than the bed, I consider a comfortable chair a MUST for every bedroom. And each seating area should always include good lighting and convenient table surface. It need not be a literal table. You might use an ottoman with tray, or a shared night stand next to the bed. Even an extra wide window sill can serve. Bedrooms, like chairs, come in all shapes and sizes, and there’s a perfect chair for every bedroom out there. The key element here is comfort ... not size. I relate a chair to a favorite pair of shoes. Even if they look good, they're worthless if they aren't comfortable.
Your bedroom is a very private space, a mini retreat within your home and what’s more personal than a favorite chair? Houzz, of course has thousands of examples. Let’s look at just a few.

A wonderful mid century piece, very "In" today, the cedar chest was previously stationed in my walk-in closet. The huge pillow is temporarily hiding a severe blemish on the lid. I designed a large combo tray that will set completely over the lid. One side will be the tray which will reverse to an upholstered cushion. I plan to purchase fabric matching the chair for that. My husband is building the project with me.
This bedroom is very much one of my Thrift Find projects. Excluding the bed & linens, the entire room was furnished and decorated for $285 total. This proves that Beautiful Decor CAN be achieved on a Budget! COMING SOON: My houzz board "Budget Bedroom" will give a breakdown on individual pieces.
