What's Popular: Top 20 Houzz Photos

A while back, I wrote an ideabook about the 15 top design trends on Houzz. Today, I thought I'd look at the top 20 most popular pictures, to see what that says about what we're into, as a group.

The number one picture here has been added to 1382 ideabooks (as of this writing) and the number 20 picture has been added to 648. That's a lot of ideabooks!

So what design ideas interest us? Natural light, neutral colors, and traditional design with a modern edge - that seems to be the aesthetic most of us are into. Add a few weathered and vintage-inspired touches, plus some creative and smart uses of space (especially for storage), and you've got a Houzz reader's dream home.

20. Weathered Kitchen. This space combines the white kitchen trend, turquoise and weathered elements for a perfect storm of a gathering and cooking space.

19. Ladylike Gallery. Gallery of photos? Check. Turquoise (aka 2010's color of the year)? Check. Touches of femininity? Check.

8. Spa Shower. From soothing neutral tile to amazing fixtures and a gorgeous built-in bench, this oversized shower is absolutely amazing.
