I have had black granite in 3 bathrooms and my kitchen for over 15 years. We raised 2 active boys in this house. We have never resealed, never had issues with staining or watermarks. We don't even use granite cleaner but use diluted alcohol to clean. These countertops still look brand new.
On the other hand, we just sold a vacation home in which I'd installed a gorgeous white dolce vita quartzite. After two years of very light use and carefully using good stone cleaners, it was already starting to etch and spot. Black granite may look out of style but, in my experience it lives well. Never will I choose anything else.

I want to get granite countertops installed in my kitchen this spring. It is good to know that if I get granite that was mined in my region can require less energy to get to my house than stuff that isn't local. That is good for me to know because I want my house to be a little green. https://lincocountertops.com/materials/granite-countertops/

Granite is a great, durable stone. A good protective option is wise, especially for bacteria prevention. Granite is known to saturate oils, liquids and in turn microbes over time. Most common complaint I see is difficult to clean after couple years. That’s because The stone saturated oils and other liquids and as you clean the stone keeps releasing them
