I am an artist and also filled my home with my own and my friends' art, plus those little things I've picked up that remind me of people and places I've been. It's not always easy to blend it all together it a way that looks good; they did a nice job. I do find it interesting that they took the opposite approach in the master bedroom.

How I enjoyed reading this young woman's story. She expressed so well how I, too, think and feel about being surrounded by treasured and familiar family artifacts. After our parents died, my brother and I inherited so much artwork - hand-carved screen, stained glass, paintings, drawings and needlework created by Mom and paintings and writings created by Dad - that I chose to add on to my small house and provide a nice space to display and incorporate our parents' art as well as 60 years' of collectibles and art by others, including my brother's paintings. I feel very comfortable and comforted in my home environment.
