I agree with you. I too have been looking for photos with toilet located next to the sink and have not found any. Free standing sinks do not work in our bathrooms.

These are "powder rooms", not regular bathrooms. Most powder rooms are the size of a small closet, therefore the sink and toilet are usually on opposite sides. If your sink and toilet are on the same wall, pretend it's an ordinary bathroom without a tub or shower. Practically all "regular" bathrooms have the sink next to the toilet. The 2 full baths in my present house does, but my powder room has the sink and toilet "looking at each other", so to speak.
