@Mitch Gould, you are probably incorrect about "that white table." If it is a genuine Knoll Saarinen table with a marble top, it could be worth upwards of $8000. If it is an antique version (as opposed to a reissue), quite a bit more. And for those who like this sort of furniture, they might appreciate the playfulness of this minimalist mid-century table against the "richer" looking, traditional elements.

I love, love, love velvet in small doses. I sewed a velvet cushion cover in sage for our bed and a white velvet cover for my vanity bench. I visited my mother-in-law last month and was pleasantly surprised that she had her couch redone in a rich fuchsia--almost magenta--smooth silk velvet! I have always loved the way a couch would look covered in velvet (royal blue or navy would be a rich choice). I just wish i could be as daring as my 80- year old MIL!
