Since I am in a wheelchair, I am going to install the French door ( 2 door) oven at waist- height and a cook top, This way I can control the height of my cooktop and oven. This would also work for a shorter cook. I hope this will eliminate many of the burns I get from my conventional stove. I am also going to put my microwave and wine fridge in my island at a lower level.

I have a one door, side swing oven and I can't imagine what life would have been like if I'd had it earlier. You're absolutely correct -- I no longer burn my arms, reaching over that big door to reach something in the oven. I don't know why all ovens are not made with a side swing (or two) doors.
