Urban Futons - Dr. Futonberg

I feel that the best type of sofa for a cabin is a futon. The reason is because futon frames are exposed wood which matches the natural rustic look of the wood cabin. The best part of a futon is the number of options you have when it comes to choosing the style of frame, the wood finish, the comfort level of mattress and lastly the futon cover. A futon is just as comfortable if not more than a regular bed or sofa bed. Keep in mind that a futon mattress is not attached to the frame, so it's a real mattress, not some flimsy 4" mattress that you find in pull out hide a bed sofas. You can always update the look of the futon with a new slip cover. Futons and cabins simply go together. Keep in mind that furnishing a cabin can be difficult as far as logistics are concerned, especially if your cabin is located off the beat path. A futon sofa bed simply makes more sense because the mattress comes folded and the frame is ready to assemble in a box, making it easy to transport and fit in tight entryways or stairways.
