The living space extends out to functional places in the back and front yards: a private shaded back yard and a sunny seating area in the front yard off the kitchen where neighbors can easily mingle with the family. A Japanese bath off the master bedroom upstairs overlooks a private roof deck which is screened from neighbors’ views by a trellis with plants growing from planter boxes and with lanterns hanging from a trellis above.

The interior has generous double height spaces, which combined with the grand windows in both facades, give excellent natural light and views. The staircase leads to a bridge that separates the public and private areas. Towards one end of the bridge the main bedroom is located and to the other the rest of the bedrooms and a family room. The finishes selected for the interiors keep the coherence with the combination of materials used in the exterior, as well as it attains excellent contrast in all the spaces. Materials such as marble, wood, glass and some metallic elements, stand out going around the splendid interiors of the house. One of the most attractive spaces is the living-dining area. In the living room the double height and grand windows direct the view straight to the back garden and the lake
sedum / There are a number of types of windows visible in that photo. The blue-green panels to the left and right are channel glass walls (Pilkington see http://www.tgpamerica.com/structural-glass/pilkington-profilit/?gclid=CjwKEAiA_9nFBRCsurz7y_Px8xoSJAAUqvKC0eE7KcmOEBgpC4TnIoUdGrhXFP9Ks1p5IpQennuv_hoCSbfw_wcB). The clear section in the middle is an aluminum-framed window made by Efco. The transom windows above are fir windows from Sierra Pacific. The channel glass is uncommon in residential construction.

wow privacy panels at railing... stairs...
"The railing is a combination of welded and shaped galvanized base that acts as a cap to the stucco wall. To the cap are welded posts that serve as concealed spline connectors for the redwood trellis columns and posts for a Feeney cable rail. The redwood cap is attached to a steel top base rail.- I'll attach more images of the details later. We lifted the "L" shaped railing with a crane. The crane cost less than our cost to replace the neighbors side view mirror on the car that was damaged while positioning the crane and railing for delivery."Levitch Associates, Inc:

These 'Nut' porcelain pavers are the darkest color in the Kronos Italian range of simulated wood 3/4" thick structural pavers. The 24 x 24" slabs make an ideal alternative surface to natural wood where you want low maintenance, stain resistance and fire resistance / rooftop applications, the slabs can be simply laid on top of 5/8" high rubber support pads or adjustable height pedestals, which avoids any damage to existing waterproof membranes.
deck 'hidden' between would give a bit of privacy from neighbors
