Does anyone have any experience with butcher block counters made from Birch? I recently remodeled a laundry room and used it for my folding area. It looks great and very happy with it. Just wonder how it would hold up in my kitchen?

I recently installed birch butcher block in my laundry room. Works great for a folding area. I am wondering how this type of wood would hold up in a kitchen.

It would hold up wonderfully well with the right care, occasionally oiling it with mineral oil as many other oils can go rancid on wood and leave black dots.
