Interior of Mountain Home
This is a ceiling that we liked a lot. Contrasting wood could match floor and trim well. With our double ceiling beams this may or may not make sense in the great room. However wood like this as an accent piece around bedroom fireplaces/bedroom walls, ?stairway wall/ceiling and/or in the media room would be cool.
like the use of materials on exterior
sheetrock in main room--a little modern feeling. Wood trim would help. I like the light floor. We will have a similar view over the Martis Valley from north facing sliders.
room with windows and door combination
another simple bunk room
bathroom with shiplap--might be OK in a bathroom or two. contrasts with more modern.
simple design for bunk beds
wood trim above counter to break plane
rock and mirror with wood trim
Cabinets, wall/mirror--don't like rock
Metal roof is interesting. A little too much wood.
The next three pictures have the double beam ceiling that we'll have.
This is a very nice space. LOVE the doors and the integration with the deck. Proportions are very good.
I like this!
Interesting idea to open up a big opening. Not sure if this is weatherproof or inexpensive. Couldn't open up a corner though.
A wood beam in the middle could help break up the room.
Nice balance of wood, painted surfaces, rustic and more finished wood. Roof too low for this room.
With more rustic wood (of different color) this is nice.
Wooden beams are too intrusive here.
Sort of appealing but brick is too busy.
Room has nice proportions and is broken up by ceiling elements. Crossing beams are way too busy. Windows look nice.
This is a nice look/feel but I'm not sure it would work for our house. Reversal of wood ceiling and lighter beams is interesting. White crown moulding lightens things but makes it a bit busy.
This has a good balance of wood and painted surfaces yet remains light enough. No windows though.....
Not sure if I like the crossing beams or not. A little busy. Contrast is a little too much, room too dark.
Clean look. Too much white. Carol likes, I don't like it.
Ceiling is too complex. Overall effect too dark
WAY too much wood in here.
Too much rock and busyness in this room. Doesn't work.
Beautiful fireplace and windows. With a flat roof I'd use a painted ceiling broken up by substantial wood members.
Wood elements breaking up painted surfaces works to balance rustic yet light/open feel well.
Nice open room. Love window casing, floor, painted walls/ceiling but broken up with wood. Beams are a little small for the room though.
I like the beam and small side walls separating the rooms without breaking them up. Each get their own sense of place without ruining the flow. Would probably separate them less but the general idea is good.
Nice use of rock as an accent piece. Can this be integrated with board form concrete and wood in a way that looks good??
Wainscoating is a possibility but wood colors need to be uniform.
Love the simple wood beam ceiling with painted surface between. Would pick lighter wood on the floor.
I like the narrow wood casing on the wall of windows.
Mix of rock, wood and painted surfaces are in good proportion.
I love the rock!
