These are 1x2" battens spaced 12".

10' panels used instead of our 8' panels. And this has Z-flashing between the seams for a cleaner look vs the horizontal thick boards. Battens are spaced 16" and are 3/4" thick and 2 1/2" wide.

This is smooth side out cedar siding, untreated

This siding's face is flat instead of angled to provide a more contemporary feel. Love it.

Maybe board and batten in top and a bit lower than gables, halfway down windows or so. Like in big peak in this picture. Then horizontal siding beneath that.

If we do board and batten, maybe we could have a horizontal board separating the big peak on the lake side, then have thinner board & batten widths above the board. Maybe position the board somewhere through the middle of the height of the main floor dining room windows, or maybe just underneath of them?

I like this look, with stone accents, looks like a light, muted wood facia and dark exterior and trim. But may be a bit too dark?

Roof, maybe charcoal? looks a bit lighter. But entire roof is metal.

dark windows with white window trim. i don't mind it as much here.

White trim around dark windows and I don't like it. Also for reference... Window trim is 6" and horizontal band is 10". Also, Battens are two feet apart, and buttons themselves are 1x2. TOO WIDE.
