Well, folks, we just opted for a laminate countertop:

Also opted to have only cabinet doors (and handles) and toe-kicks replaced with all white (light gloss) flat panel.

So that's that. The work should take 2 days in mid june, plus a couple more days for the plumber to do his thing to dismantle the sink and dishwasher before and attach it all again after (but maybe a new dishwasher......) So I expect to be without a kitchen for about a week at most.

Really nice!!!! It's amazing when you redo and suddenly everything looks clean and sparkling. You'll love it, I'm sure. Add a Blanco sink and you'll really love it. Nice and deep for all those big pots.
