Great article! we have created our three ponds mainly for animals, one we also use for swimming. It also has a sandy beach and is actually an extinguishing pond for the fire department.
The small fish in the ponds are intended as bird food for kingfishers. In addition, many frogs, toads and insects live in them.
Several artificial waterfalls make for a nice ambience.
