I thought I had a favorite but then I kept reading and now I can't decide which is my favorite! These are all beautiful examples of MCM architecture at its best.

Very interesting. I've seen many styled houses (Cape Cod, Colonial and even Victorian) with midcentury modern additions. I much prefer to keep the original style of the house in the addition. It certainly makes for a more cohesive look particularly when it's blended in or identically styles. Nice examples of beautiful midcentury from the days they were awesome. And with the additions, they still are awesome.

I love all these natural wood houses with lots of glass. Not at all practical for most of Canada except Vancouver or Vancouver Island and maybe the Niagara area though. We often see 'summer people' fall in love with our detailed architecture here, buy homes, immediately do huge additions and soon realize that they cannot afford to heat and maintain them. Meanwhile everyone else taxes have gone up, to the point where 4 th gen people were forced off their homesteads nearby. Renovations, additions etc. are a complicated social issue that we don't often hear all the facts about. There is more to it than curb appeal and resale value and personal taste.
